Trust our factory in China for superior melt filtration solutions that meet your industry requirements

    Description

The melt filter element is installed in the extrusion line, where the polymer melt is forced through the filter to remove impurities. The main filter layer of Pleated Filter mainly uses two materials:stainless steel wire mesh and stainless steel Sintered fiber . Stainless steel wire mesh is woven from stainless steel wire. Its pleated filter has the characteristics of smooth pores, easy cleaning, high temperature resistance, corrosion resistance, no wire mesh falling off, and long filtration cycle. Stainless steel sintered fiber is a porous deep filter material made of stainless steel fibers sintered at high temperature. Its pleated filter has the characteristics of high porosity, good air permeability, strong dirt holding capacity, and strong regeneration ability.

Core advantages of POLYMER Melt Filters

    1
It can effectively filter out gel particles, carbonized impurities, catalyst residues, dust and other tiny particles in the melt.
    2
Enhance the mechanical properties and appearance of the product.
    3
It has a high dirt-holding capacity and can hold a large amount of pollutants before being completely clogged, thereby significantly extending the replacement cycle.
    4
It has reduced the downtime caused by replacing filters or cleaning equipment, and improved the utilization rate and overall efficiency of the production line.
    5
It provides stable and consistent filtration resistance, which helps maintain the stability of melt pressure, flow rate and temperature, making the entire production process more controllable and smoother.
    6
High temperature and high pressure resistance. It is usually made of stainless steel (such as 304, 316L), Hastelloy and other metals.

    Application Areas

    1
Petrochemical: Refining, chemical production and separation and recovery of intermediate products.
    2
Metallurgy: Used for filtration of hydraulic systems of rolling mills and continuous casting machines.
    3
Textile: Purification and uniform filtration of polyester melt during the drawing process.

How to clean industrial filter cores?

Industrial fine filters are widely used in industries such as pharmaceutical, chemical, ink and paint, food and beverage, automobile manufacturing, cement industry, petroleum, oil refineries, petrochemical, etc. It is important to clean these filter cartridges to ensure that they filter consistently over a long period of time.

Industrial filter cores provided by Song Phung have high dirt holding capacity, are easy to install, clean and maintain. The fine filter element is sturdy, has a solid quality core and has well-formed layers, so cleaning and installing them is very easy.

Some filtration systems allow backwashing and have a CIP system design. But most have to be taken out of their shells, sterilized and washed. When not in use, these cleaned filter cartridges are dried and sealed or vacuumed to prevent contamination or wear.

FAQ - Polymer Melt Filters & Candle Filter Elements

Q1: What materials are used for the main filter layer of the Pleated Filter?
The main filter layer of the Pleated Filter primarily utilizes two materials: stainless steel wire mesh (known for smooth pores, easy cleaning, and high temperature/corrosion resistance) and stainless steel sintered fiber (a porous deep filter material offering high porosity, excellent air permeability, and strong dirt holding capacity).
Q2: What are the standard specifications of the candle filter elements?
The candle filter elements are made of SUS304/316L raw materials with metal sintering mesh or stainless steel wire mesh media. They feature a filtration rating of 1-200 Micro, a length range of 16-60 inches (406.4-1524mm), a working temperature allowance of ≤350℃, and an allowed pressure difference of 10 bar/14psi.
Q3: What are the core advantages of using POLYMER Melt Filters?
They efficiently filter out gel particles, carbonized impurities, and catalyst residues, which enhances the mechanical properties of products. Additionally, they offer high dirt-holding capacity, reduce maintenance downtime, provide stable filtration resistance, and withstand high temperatures and pressures.
Q4: In which application areas are these filter elements commonly used?
They are widely applied in the Petrochemical industry (for refining and chemical separation), Metallurgy (for hydraulic systems of rolling mills and continuous casting machines), and the Textile industry (for uniform filtration of polyester melt during drawing).
Q5: How do you clean and maintain industrial filter cores?
Some filtration systems allow backwashing with a CIP system design. However, most filter cores need to be removed from their housings, sterilized, and washed. When not in use, the cleaned cartridges should be dried and sealed or vacuum-packed to prevent contamination or wear.
